I’m sure that you have all had that moment of peace while sitting on a hill all alone watching the scenery. In those moments it seems that you are close to God. It seems that nothing could be or is wrong in your life. I have had many of these times. I can remember sitting in my deer blind at peace with the world. The wind blowing through the pines, the sound birds in the distance, and the smell of evergreen permeating your nose. These are the reasons I spend lots of time in the outdoors. It gives me time to think and meditate about my faith, vocation, and family.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. 6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; Psalm 95 4-6
There are many references in the Bible pertaining to the earth and it’s beauty. This Psalm illustrates our feeling of peace when surrounded by the tranquility of the outdoors.
My hope is that you will find that inner piece the next time you head to the outdoors. Let the experience into your heart and understand that you are walking with God. He is with you and there are certain times when we can hear him better through all the noise in our lives.
May god bless you on your adventures and be with you each of your days.
Your brother in Christ. Andy
